This is a series of photographs capturing some of the landmarks, sculptures & views you may come across while taking a stroll down the promenade in Morecambe Bay, Lancashire, UK.
As you view these photographs, I hope you get a sense of actually strolling down the promenade, seeing the sights for yourself. I’m also hoping those familiar with the area will see it in a different way; this is why my photographs are all made in black & white & why I’ve captured certain landmarks from different vantage points & angles.
Sadly, we’ve lost a number of the town’s main attractions over the years & it can feel like there’s a lack of life to a once vibrant seaside town. As a result, many view Morecambe as a rundown town with not much to see or do while here.
Even though the town has suffered many losses over the years, the one thing we can never lose is the beauty of the area our little seaside town is situated in. This is something as residents we should be proud of & should show appreciation for.
The aim of this project is to remind people that you don’t have to travel the world in search of beautiful things or views to admire & photograph. If you simply take the time to stop & look, you’ll find it in your own hometown.
Thank you for taking the time to view my photographs & I hope you enjoyed your stroll down the promenade.
